Zephaniah 2:3 says, "Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth." Hebrew translation for meek is, modest, humble or lowly. So when the prophet calls out to the people, he isn't calling out to the prideful ones. He is calling out to the ones who will humble themselves enough. To receive the message from the Lord. Verse 3 continues, "Who have upheld his justice" In this sentence our father had already warned us to fast, gather and pray. We have shown ourselves loyal to the calling. Those who seek humility will , "seek righteousness." He has asked us to call out for his help. To be able to say Father we need you in this season. We are being called out of sin. To repent. The instruction was to ask for the deliverance. In what area of your life do you need to repent? How can you become lowly or humble enough to ask God to help you with a certain attribute that needs to be changed? The verse finishes saying, "It may be that you will be hidden in the day of the Lord's anger." God tells us how to get out of sin. We ask him for help. Then when judgment or persecution occurs we will have proven loyal and may not see wrath. What are the consequences of your sin? Our father is giving us a way to be safe guarded from the consequences of sin.
