Catching Spirit

"I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." Matthew 3:11(NIV) This verse was recited by John the baptist. He was Jesus cousin born from Elizabeth. Mary's cousin. He was preparing the way for Yahshua. He was also the most privileged. Not only did he prophesy but he also baptized Yahshua and helped with the start of Yahshua's ministry.

John the Baptist prophesy was fulfilled in Acts chapter 2. After Yahshua returned to heaven the Apostles prayed and fasted in the upper room. During the Hebrew feast Pentecost is when they were baptized with the Holy Spirit and tongues of fire. Verse 2-4 states, "Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them."
